Choose Region Type

To access this dialog:

  • Import region outlines using the Import Data | BoundariesOptimization panel option. The Choose Region Type dialog is displayed as the final stage of import.

When you import region outlines you will need to specify what they will be used for, using this dialog.

Field Details:

Region Types: make a selection from the following:

  • NPVS 2D Slope Regions: can be used, possibly in combination with separating surfaces, to make 3D Slope Regions for Pit Optimization and Pushbacks.

  • NPVS Pit Limits: can be used to limit ultimate pit extent. Pit Limit perimeters can be specified either to exclude everything outside the perimeter, to exclude everything inside the perimeter (default specification), or to delimit an obstacle. After importing the limits, you can change the default specification of any particular limit with the Digitizer context menu Edit Properties command.

  • NPVS Pushback Adjustments: can be used to adjust pushback shapes and locations. The adjustments come in four versions, [Local Limit] is the default specification. After importing the adjustments, you can change the default specification of any particular perimeter with the Digitizer context menu Edit Properties command.

  • NPVS Pit Partitions: can be used as “footprints” for partitioning larger pits into smaller ones. The main purpose of pit partitioning is to help you obtain required schedules for relatively large pushbacks, for example designed stages that can be mined at two or more benches simultaneously.

Select cost field for obstacles (optional): if required, you can assign a data field to represent obstacle costs when importing obstacle perimeters. When the cost associated with a perimeter is not zero, the perimeter is automatically defined as an obstacle; if the cost is zero the perimeter is considered an unconditional (non-removable) limit.
